Where death becomes absurd, anything alive is a miracle...

From the Ukraine, with their mix of blaxploitation and sludgy old school death, come to conquer our fortress are the War Poets 1914, formed on the 100th anniversary of World War I.

The music of this dark strike force, imbued with the oppressive atmosphere of the doom-ridden events of the early 20th century, has even charmed the folks at Napalm Records, who have released two albums "The Blind Leading The Blind" and "Where Fear and Weapons Meet". Their tales of battlefields and sieges, full of unfulfilled destinies, horrific events, injustice, hopelessness and unending, all-enveloping death, are not as familiar as those of WWII, but in some ways far more insane, as lives were often fought for with bare hands.
