KAMPFAR

Country: Norway
Genre: PAGAN BLACK METAL

With the Norwegian formation KAMPFAR, whose name comes from an ancient Norse battle cry, we get into Norse myths and meditations on pagan cults.

The self-assured band, led for almost 30 years by the owner of the killer voice Dolk, is close to Enslaved in atmosphere, but in its pagan black, which also reflects neoclassical or Viking folk, doesn't lose momentum even when it turns into majestic hymnic passages.

KAMPFAR was formed in 1994 as a project by singer Dolk (real name Per Joar Spydevold), who co-founded the band with now-former guitarist Thomas Andreassen, but eventually became a classic band that has released a number of acclaimed albums over the years, including a Spellemann Award (Norway's version of the Grammy).
